(DOTHAN) - Rising senior Jarmarkus Sims was excited to pick up his second football scholarship this morning.
Sims already holds a scholarship offer from Kentucky. His most recent offer is from Troy, out of the Sun Belt Conference.
Last season Sims recorded 53 tackles, 43 solo tackles, eight assists, 1 interception and 7 pass break-ups.
"I'm very excited to get this offer. I went up there and met with Coach Bolt, he's a good guy, I really liked him," said Sims.
Troy enters their second season with Wayne Bolt as defensive coordinator. The Trojans hired Al Pogue in late January to coach the cornerbacks.
"The recruiting process has been great for me, a lot of fun," said Sims.
"I've gotten to go to a lot of schools like Auburn and Florida State junior day most recently. I still got a lot more to go to. Kentucky is still big for me right now. They were the first team to offer me," he said.
In no particular order Sims says his top 3 at the moment are Kentucky, Troy and Auburn.
"When I'm looking at a school I'm just looking for the school that's going to be best for me as far as football and education," said Sims.
"I also want to give a shoutout to my teammates because I couldn't have achieved any of this without them," he said.
Sims says getting immediate playing time will be a big factor in his college decision. His next visit will be to South Alabama in Mobile.
