TROY, Ala. – The Troy football team officially wrapped up fall camp Tuesday morning with an early two-hour workout in Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Trojans took the field at 6:30 a.m. in their final practice before classes start at Troy on Wednesday.

"I thought today went pretty good," head coach Larry Blakeney said. "It was early but we got here and looked like we got some things done. Every time we come out here it's a learning situation and we are getting there on both sides of the ball. It looks like we are making plays and doing the things we are supposed to do."

With camp behind them and classes on the horizon, the Trojans now focus their attention to their second scrimmage of the fall on Saturday and a date with UAB on Aug. 31.

"There is no question that we are starting on UAB (now that camp is over), getting our prep and trying to learn as much as we can about what they have normally done," Blakeney said. "I expect it to be a throwdown game. They are well coached, Garrick McGee is a great football coach and they have good players. They always get ramped up for us and I hope that we get ramped up for them."

The Trojans will practice in the afternoons the rest of the week before scrimmaging on Saturday at 10 a.m. Troy will hold its annual Fan Day at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Trojan Arena where fans can get autographs from their favorite Trojan student-athletes and coaches on the football, volleyball, soccer and cross country teams. The Troy cheerleaders and T-Roy will also be there and the Trojan Warriors will be providing free food and drinks.
