Troy, AL- Sure, it .was 2 years ago but in the minds of some players and coaches, it was yesterday. The last time Troy took a trip down to Monroe Louisiana they came back with a loss
That loss came before the current 13 game conference winning streak and it didn't come by much.
The Trojans were up late in the 4th quarter but a late score put the Trojans down one , and they needed then kicker Sam Glusman to hit a bomb of a field goal, but the ball hit the cross bar and bounced back into the field of play.
In that game, Jerrel Jernigan was out with injury, same with linebacker Bear Woods. So the Trojans didn't have all their weapons. Coach Blakeney says it was the play that did them in, and very well could do the same this time around if they're not careful.
“We dropped some balls and you know we didn't execute sharply and we didn't win the game” Said Troy Head Coach Larry Blakeney, looking back on the loss 2 years ago. ”so hopefully better preparation and remembrance of that event will get us ready to play”
