ESPN's top-rated player chose the Tigers over Alabama and Texas. Fournette is rated as a five-star prospect after a standout career at St. Augustine High School.
The addition of Fournette moves LSU to 12th in ESPN's recruiting rankings. The Tigers now have 18 verbal commitments.
Fournette's choice denied Alabama a unique opportunity to sign three top-ranked players. Alabama already has verbal commitments from defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand and offensive lineman Cameron Robinson, both top-ranked players both other recruiting services. Fournette is ESPN's top-rated player.
