Johnny Football is heading to the NFL.
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel declared for the NFL draft on Wednesday, wrapping up a spectacular two seasons in which he became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy and helped the Aggies make a splash in their first two years in the Southeastern Conference.
In a letter posted by the university, Manziel says he felt it was the "right time" to take the next step toward the NFL. He thanked his coaches and fans.
Manziel completed nearly 70 percent of his passes as a redshirt sophomore for 4114 yards, 37 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also led the Aggies in rushing with 759 yards and nine more scores.
