AUBURN, Alabama -- Sunny Golloway does not officially start his new job at Auburn until Monday, but he's already hard at work building his first staff.
Oklahoma pitching coach Jack Giese is expected to join Golloway in Auburn, according to conversations he has had recently with the Auburn program. Giese spent the last two seasons at Oklahoma under Golloway, and coached Jonathan Gray, the No. 3 overall pick in the MLB Draft earlier this month.
"I believe he's coming," said former Auburn baseball player Joe Beckwith, who helped lead the search that landed Golloway on Friday. "Jack has got a great reputation for pitching. He has worked with CC Sabathia and a couple other big leaguers, worked with their changeup, done things to help them. He's going to elevate the current pitching staff and make them a lot better."
