Southern Union Advances to ACCC State Championship Game

OZARK, AL -- The Southern Union Baseball Team knew the deal entering Wednesday's action at the ACCC State Tournament. The Bison knew they would have to win once on Wednesday, then twice more on Thursday, in order to win the state title.

Southern Union took care of the first part of the journey on Wednesday night, jumping out to an early lead, and rolling past L.B. Wallace 12-5. With the victory, the Bison advanced to face Central Alabama at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Eagle Stadium.

Central Alabama advanced to Thursday's title game with a 15-3 win over Southern Union on Tuesday. The Trojans have outscored their opposition 36-13 through three games in Ozark.

L.B. Wallace - 11 Wallace-Dothan - 1

L.B. Wallace scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back, run-ruling rival Wallace-Dothan 11-1 in five innings in an elimination game at the State Tournament. With the win, the Saints advanced to play Southern Union in another elimination game on Wednesday night.
