Ashford, AL -- The Rehobeth Boys Basketball Team has lost several close games in recent weeks and the Rebels were on the verge of another tough setback on Wednesday afternoon.
Ashford led Rehobeth 40-35 with two minutes to go in the third quarter, in front of a packed gym at Ashford High School. That's when the Rebels got tough, playing one of their best stretches of basketball so far this season.
Rehobeth ripped off a 13-0 run to take command, en route to a 54-45 win over the Yellow Jackets. Josh Thompson scored 21 points for the Rebels, while Lamarius Mack added 17.
Mack got things started with a driving lay-up, cutting the Jackets lead to three points. After a Thompson putback basket, Ethan Jacobs knocked down a three-point shot from the right win, giving Rehobeth a lead it would not relinquish.
Dan Curl led Ashford with 15 points.
