Northview Star Jasmine Hamilton Signs with Alabama Southern

DOTHAN, AL -- Northview's Jasmine Hamilton has steadily built herself into one of the top basketball players in the Wiregrass. Hamilton earned a spot on the North-South All-Star Team and played for one of the top AAU squads in the state.

Now, Hamilton is taking her act on the road, signing a letter of intent to play for Alabama Southern. Despite interest from some Division One programs, Hamilton chose to continue her career with the Eagles.

"I feel like I'll go to Alabama Southern and just get right, and do what I can to make their program a little better," Hamilton said. "I can do big things and get to the D-One level."

Like most players, Hamilton said signing her name on the dotted line was a dream come true.

"It's amazing," Hamilton said. "I've been waiting a long time for this moment.

"I can't wait to get out there and just hoop it up."

Hamilton averaged more than 18 points, two steals and two rebounds per game, leading Northview to the Sub-Regional round of the Class 6A playoffs as a senior.
