TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After posting a 10-5 win over the Troy Trojans in Pensacola, Fla. on Tuesday night, the No. 30 Alabama Crimson Tide (16-8, 3-3 SEC) will host the No. 9 ranked Ole Miss Rebels (21-5, 4-2 SEC) for a three-game Southeastern Conference series this weekend. The series gets underway on Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CT at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Game two will begin at 6:05 p.m. CT on Saturday, before concluding the series on Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. CT first pitch. Saturday’s game will be televised on CSS with Matt Stewart and Joe Beckwith providing the commentary.
Alabama is ranked No. 30 by the NCBWA and is receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches poll. The Tide has won 12 of its last 15 games while posting a season-long seven game winning streak during that stretch.
Following last week’s home midweek sweep of Alcorn State, Alabama is 12-3 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. When playing away from The Joe, Alabama has a 4-5 record. After defeating Alcorn State 17-3 and 12-0 last week, Alabama completed a season-long nine-game homestand with an 8-1 record. With the three-game home series win over the No. 20 Kentucky, the Crimson Tide has won all four home weekend home series this season.
