MOBILE, Alabama - Before the Senior Bowl, Alabama linebacker Nico Johnson said he wanted "to showcase everything I have to offer" to NFL personnel in Mobile for the all-star game, including the ability to rush the passer and the knack for dropping into pass coverage.
Known as a run-stopper for the Crimson Tide, the former Andalusia High School star still hasn't had much chance to rush the passer in practice from the middle linebacker spot for the South squad this week. But as to his ability to drop into pass coverage, check that off as mission accomplished.
During the South's practice at Ladd-Peebles Stadium today, Johnson dropped into coverage and intercepted a pass by Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson.
