BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Quarterbacks Cam Newton of Auburn and
Mike Hartline of Kentucky are the co-Southeastern Conference
offensive players of the week.
Newton ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 140
yards and a score against Arkansas. Hartline threw for 349 yards
and four TDs against South Carolina.
Mississippi State linebacker Chris White was defensive player of
the week after logging 11 tackles and 4.5 stops for loss against
Kentucky kicker Ryan Tydlacka and Alabama return man Marquis
Maze were co-special teams player of the week.
Georgia center Ben Jones was offensive lineman of the week and
Auburn tackle Nick Fairley received defensive line honors.
Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray won freshman honors.
