CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Miami quarterback Stephen Morris nearly went to Florida. He now will have a chance to beat Florida.
Miami hosts the 12th-ranked Gators on Saturday in the renewal of a huge Sunshine State rivalry. Morris committed to Miami in 2009, a few days after he went to a camp at Florida and impressed members of the Gators' coaching staff. When word got out that the Gators might be interested, the Hurricanes moved in quickly with their offer.
Morris has never doubted that he made the right call.
And Saturday brings a chance for the senior to have a signature moment: He's 0-4 against Top 25 teams since coming to Miami.
