Mark Richt's Son to Play in High School All-Star Game

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- The son of Georgia football coach Mark Richt is set to take part in the South Carolina College All-Star Bowl next month.

Bowl director David Wyatt said quarterback Jon Richt of Mars Hill will play in the game at North Greenville University on March 23. Jon Richt was originally enrolled at Clemson before transferring to Mars Hill. Wyatt said the Georgia coach will attend the game in support of his son.

Jon Richt threw for 2,936 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. He ended his career as the school's all-time leader with 8,169 yards and 69 TD passes.

The inaugural all-star game features players who were college seniors who either played at South Carolina schools or played high school football in the state before moving on to college elsewhere.
