Area schools have begun offering a new after school activity for students of all ages. The National Archery in Schools Program has teamed up with schools across the nation to provide a chance for students to participate in archery competitions.
The program provides training for teachers who act as sponsors for each archery club. NASP began in Kentucky and has since expanded to 47 states.
The competition held in Ozark on Thursday was a regional competition. If a student placed first in the Ozark competition, or any of the seven regional competitions across the state, they will move on to compete at the state level.
