LPGA Returns to Having Two Events in Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- The LPGA Tour will have two tournaments in Alabama again starting in 2014.

The tour announced Tuesday that the Alabama LPGA Classic will return to the schedule next year, held on part of the Robert Trent Jones Trail. LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan also says the tour has renewed its deal with the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, which starts this week.

Stacy Lewis won both Alabama tournaments in 2012, which helped her become the first American in 18 years to win LPGA player of the year.

Lewis is the defending champion this week in Mobile.

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail will be the presenting partner of both LPGA event in Alabama.
