Houston Academy standout Alex Thompson commits to Auburn

It's been a month of change for Houston Academy's Alex Thompson. He decommitted from Stetson earlier this month after the hiring of new head coach Corey Williams.

More changes are now coming his way. Thompson's hunt for a new team is finally over.

As of today, Thompson will officially join Coach Tony Barbee and the Auburn Tigers come fall.

According to Thompson, Coach Barbee says that if he takes the court as a recruited walk-on his freshman year, he is guaranteed a full ride for the rest of his college career. Not too bad.

The 6 foot 7 stand-out was named Dothan Eagle Player of the Year and Class 2A Player of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association this past season.
