According to reports, Headland head softball coach Scott Parker has been relieved of his duties.
Parker spent the last three years as head softball coach, a junior high football coach and a history teacher at Headland Middle School. The exact reason for Parker's release is unknown.
According to the report, Parker received endorsement for renewal by Henry County Superintendent Lisa Knowles, two principals and athletic director Micah Johnson. Despite that, a lack of motion to renew Parker's position led to an executive session. From there, board members unanimously voted to let Parker go.
Parker led the Lady Rams to a 75 and 32 record with two state tournament appearances.
