Garrick McGee Stepping Down as UAB Head Football Coach

A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that UAB coach Garrick McGee is stepping down and has agreed to become Bobby Petrino's offensive coordinator at Louisville.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the UAB had not announced McGee is leaving after two seasons. He was 5-19 with the Blazers, including 2-10 this past season.

A UAB spokesman did not immediately respond to a phone message or email.

McGee worked with Petrino at Arkansas from 2008-2011, the last two seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
