Miami Heat host the San Antonio Spurs for Game 1 of NBA Finals

MIAMI (AP) -- The opening game of the NBA Finals is taking place this evening in Miami as the Heat entertain the San Antonio Spurs. The well-rested Spurs eliminated Memphis in four games while the Heat needed seven to get rid of the Pacers.
During the regular season the Spurs and Heat played two games with Miami walking off the court with a win in each encounter.
A lot is being made about this being a rematch of the Spurs and LeBron James. It was back in 2007 that James led Cleveland to the finals and the Spurs swept the Cavaliers in four games. In fact, those are the only similarities as the Spurs are a different team and James is now working with much better talent in Miami. He is also a much better player than he was six years ago.
Game 2 in the best-of-seven series will take place Sunday night in Miami with the series shifting to San Antonio for the next two and if need be three games.
