DOTHAN, AL -- The Dothan Country Club hasn't yielded many low scores through the first five days of action at the Future Masters. All of that appears to be changing during the first round for players in the 15-18 Year-Old age division.

Nine players have posted rounds under par during the morning session, including four scores of -3 under par or better. Taylor Funk and Jacob Joiner each fired -4 under par 66s, while Will Duma and John Hayden each shot -3 under par 67s.

Five more players shot -1 under par 69s during the morning round. Players in the afternoon session began their rounds at noon.

The news wasn't as good for local players in the field. Dothan's Chase Feagin, playing in his final Future Masters, shot a +8 over par 78, which included a triple bogey on nine and a double bogey on 7.

Thomas Hanchey from Elba shot a +5 over par 75, while Charles Johnson from Enterprise fired a +6 over par 76. Bonifay's Trevor Bush is tied with Feagin at +8 over par.

A handful of local players have teed off in the afternoon session, including Calum Masters from Headland and the Dothan trio of Corey Smith, William Speigner and Beau Scott.
