Corvallis, OR.- Former Malone standout and current Oregon State freshman guard Chai Baker remains in the Intensive Care Unit after collapsing at practice on Tuesday.
According to our sister station, WJHG, Baker is in "critical but stable condition".
OSU Vice President of University Relations Steve Clark told WJHG a certified OSU athletic trainer performed CPR and used a defibrillator on Baker until an emergency response team arrived. Baker was rushed to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
There are few concrete details at this time.
Malone head basketball coach Steven Welch says the preliminary tests the doctors ran on Baker's heart came back okay. Welch says Baker did not battle health issues during his time at Malone. Welch says the family is flying out to Oregon to be with Baker.
Baker helped lead the Tigers to a state championship this season.
