GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Quarterback Jeff Driskel led Florida to an 11-2 record in his first season as a starter.
All people really remember is his last game: a stinker against Louisville in the Sugar Bowl.
So as Driskel and the Gators begin spring practice Wednesday, the focus is squarely on improving quarterback play and developing a more efficient offense. Florida ranked 103rd in total offense last season, the worst showing for any team that made a Bowl Championship Series game.
Offensive coordinator Brent Pease says: "We've got to be a better throwing team and that starts with him."
Driskel completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 1,646 yards last season. He threw 12 touchdown passes and five interceptions. He also ran for 413 yards and four scores.
