For some time now, the recruitment of five-star Norcross (Ga.) defensive end Lorenzo Carter was thought to be essentially a two-team race between Georgia and Alabama.
But Carter (6-5, 232) told 247 Sports on Tuesday that Florida moving up his list after he and his parents visited Gainesville last month. On Wednesday at The Opening, Nike's elite competition in Oregon, Carter told ESPN's Kipp Adams that the Gators are now his leader.
Particularly impressive to Carter was a sit-down he had with Gators defensive line coach Brad Lawing, who showed him how he'd be used at the Buck position.
