DOTHAN, AL -- Emmanuel Christian star forward Cody Lewis never believed he would play basketball beyond the high school level. On Wednesday, Lewis confounded his own expectations, signing a letter of intent to play for Enterprise State.
The 6'8 forward will join the Boll Weevils for the 2013-14 season. He is one of three area players heading to the City of Progress, joining Enterprise forward Josh Boykin and Charles Henderson guard Tyler Mitchell.
Lewis says his signing day was truly special, although he admits, not even in his wildest dreams did he imagine he would get this chance.
"I'm just in complete shock and I'm really glad I got this opportunity to be here," Lewis said. "I never though t this day would come that I would go play college ball, even though I've wanted to all my life."
Lewis averaged more than 13 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game, leading the Warriors to a runner-up finish in the Panhandle Christian Conference as a senior.
