The Dothan Elite Lady Sox held their third annual "Queen of the Diamond" youth skills challenge and homerun derby this morning. The event took place at Northside Methodist Church.
Youth players were invited out to participate in a skills challenge that allowed them to compete against each other in fielding, throwing and hitting drills.
The Elite Lady Sox and LA Bombers were on site to help the younger players and show them the ropes.
After the skills challenge, high school aged girls were invited to compete in a home run derby. Each player got twelve swings to knock it out of the park to advance to the next round.
After three rounds of tiebreakers, Emerald Coachman emerged as the "Queen of the Diamond".
