Elba Hires Ed Rigby as Head Football Coach

The Elba Football Team has a new head coach. The City School Board announced the hiring of Ed Rigby at a special meeting on Thursday.

Rigby comes to Elba from Goshen, where he was an assistant coach in 2012. Prior to his stop at Goshen, Rigby was the head coach at Tate High School in Pensacola for six seasons.

Rigby will begin his duties at Elba on March first. He'll serve as a physical education teacher, as well as his duties as head football coach.

He replaces Scott Rials, who resigned last year to become the new head football coach at Satsuma. Rigby is the husband of Troy Women's Basketball Coach Chanda Rigby, who is in the middle of her first year with the Trojans.
