Downtown Hoops Classic: Dothan Wins 2nd Straight Title

(DOTHAN) - With a hoarse voice and loosened tie, Emanuel Brown says it was exactly what his team needed.

The Dothan Tigers beat Malone in Overtime 69-64 in the 8th Annual Downtown Dothan Hoops Classic.

"This is something for us to build on. This is a young team but it's exactly what we needed," said Coach Brown.

The Tigers forced overtime, tied at 62, thanks to a Tyrez Lindsey lay-up as time expired.

In the extra period Dothan hit their free throws and were able to hold off Malone.

5 Malone players fouled out of the game including their top player, Chai Baker.

Baker fouled out in the 4th quarter with the game close. He scored 15 points in the game.

"Last year after winning this tournament the inury bug hit us. Now we've got to use this game as momentum and build on it," said Brown.

Dothan plays rival Northview Friday night.
