The Dothan High Softball Team will have one of the top batteries in the state this coming season. Along with Auburn commit Kasey Cooper, catcher Denise Anderson will also continue her career at the Division One level.
Anderson has committed to play for Florida A&M, and she can't wait to get to Tallahassee and her her new team compete for MEAC titles.
"They're close to home and I really like the environment," Anderson said. "The coaches are really nice, and I really liked it a lot.
"It's the perfect place for me."
Anderson has been one of Dothan's top players for the past few years, and she played a key role for a successful summer league team out of Dothan this past season. She says all of this experience will help her fit in and, hopefully, make an immediate impact for the Rattlers as a freshman.
"I've kind of prepared for it all my life, so I'm kind of used to it," Anderson said. "I just think I'll really enjoy the time there, and playing with the people."
Anderson hit .382 with eight home runs and 35 r.b.i. as a junior, helping Dothan finish third in the state in Class 6A. Both Anderson and Cooper can sign with their respective schools during the early signing period, which begins on November 12th.
