Crimson Tide Continues Preparations for Iron Bowl

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team continued it preparations for Auburn on Wednesday with a two-hour practice in full pads practice inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.

The top-ranked Crimson Tide travel to Jordan Hare Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 30, for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS with the fourth-ranked Tigers. Alabama has won four of the last five games in the series and hold a 42-34-1 edge in the all-time. The Tide has also captured the last two Iron Bowl in Auburn, with a 26-21 victory in 2009 and a 42-14 win in 2011. Both the 2009 and 2011 victories helped propel the Crimson Tide to national championships.

Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier was also announced as a nominee for the 2013 Broyles Award The Rotary Club of Little Rock announced on Wednesday. The Broyles Award honors the top assistant college football coach in America and was established in 1996 to honor legendary Arkansas Head Coach Frank Broyles. Coach Broyles had a track record of producing some of the most successful assistant coaches in college football history.

Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart won the award in 2009 and special team coordinator Bobby Williams was nominated last season. The Crimson Tide will move Thursday's practice to earlier in the day before breaking for Thanksgiving. The Tide will then reconvene Friday to eat Thanksgiving dinner together as a team.
