|
The Chipola Junior College Men's Basketball Team moved one step closer to the post-season on Wednesday. The Indians rolled past Gulf Coast 64-47 in Panama City.
With the win, the Indians (20-5, 4-4) moved one game ahead of the Commodores for third place in the Panhandle Conference. Only the top two teams in the conference earn bids to the State Tournament, which will be held at Chipola Junior College next month.
Trantell Knight sparked a 16-5 run to start the second half with a three-point play, helping the Indians build a 50-27 lead. Gulf Coast (13-11, 3-5) never recovered, and now finds itself two games out of playoff contention, with four league games to play.
Knight led Chipola with 11 points, while MoHammed Lee and Tevin Baskin contributed with 10 apiece. Terrence Townes led the Commodores with 11 points.
