SALINA, KS -- The Central Arizona Women's Basketball Team came out red hot against Chipola at the NJCAA Tournament on Thursday. The Lady Vaqueras never slowed down, rolling to an 84-67 victory.
Central Arizona shot 57 percent from the field for the game, jumping out to a 47-34 lead and rolling to the 17-point victory over the Lady Indians. With the win, the Lady Vaqueras advanced to face Hutchinson Community College in a semifinal match-up on Friday.
Joymesia Howard led Central Arizona with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Brea Edwards added 23 points and Ijeoma Uchendu had 17 points and 12 boards for the Lady Vaqueras.
Kristine Brance led Chipola with 23 points. The Lady Indians ends the year with a 27-7 record.
