OCALA—The Chipola College men’s and women’s basketball teams are playing in the the FCSAA State Tournament, March 5-8, on the campus of the College of Central Florida in Ocala.
The Indians beat defending State Champion Central Florida 82-73 a first round game Wednesday night. Chipola will play Polk in the semi-finals Friday, March 7, at 2 p.m. (CST). The men’s championship is Saturday, March 8, at 4 p.m. (CST). Chipola (22-5) tops the men’s state poll.
The Chipola College Lady Indians (28-1) face Palm Beach (24-6), Thursday, March 6, at 5 p.m. (CST). A first round win would put the Panhandle Champion Lady Indians in the semi-finals, Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m., to face the winner of Florida State College and Indian River.
The Lady Indians are first in the women’s state poll and fourth in the NJCAA National Poll.
Chiopla’s state tournament games will be broadcast on WJAQ-radio, 100.9, on the web at www.ihigh.com/collegeofcentrafla, and also live on Chipola College Television (CCTV), Comcast Channel 4.
