The Brantley Girls Basketball Team is going to Birmingham, but it wasn't easy. The Bulldogs survived a buzzer beater to force overtime, and a potential game-winning shot at the end of OT to beat St. Luke's 50-49 for the 1A South Regional Title.

With the win, the Bulldogs advance to the Final 48 in Birmingham next Tuesday. St. Luke's ends the year with a 28-2 record.

Brantley appeared to be on a quick road home early in the second half on Saturday morning, trailing St. Luke's 31-18. But, the Bulldogs rallied behind the 3-point shooting of Raven Davis to climb back into the game.

Davis hit three 3-pointers in the second half, sparking a 20-2 run that allowed Brantley to turn a 31-18 deficit to a 38-33 lead. But, this game was far from over.

St. Luke's rallied in the final minute, scoring six points, including a buzzer-beating putback from Logan Smith to tie game at 41 and force overtime.

Davis hit another trey to begin the extra period, but Brooke Pate answered with her fourth 3-pointer of the game to tie it once again. After a trio of free throws from Davis and a lay-up from Jewel Hill, Davis struck again with her fifth 3-pointer of the game, giving the Bulldogs a four point lead.

St. Luke's made another late run, cutting the Bulldogs lead to one at 50-49. After Dominque Caldwell missed two free throws in the final 10 seconds, Hill raced the ball up the court and took a wild shot in the final seconds that was off the mark, allowing the Bulldogs to escape with the one-point victory.

Davis led Brantley with 22 points and senior forward Erica Daniels came off the bench to score 10 points. Hill led St. Luke's with 22 points.

Davis was named 1A South Regional Tournament MVP, hitting 5-of-15 3-point attempts. The Bulldogs survived despite a scoreless day from leading scorer Amahni Upshaw, who grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Bulldogs advance to the first Final Four in school history.
