Brantley Girls Advance to Class 1A State Championship Game

The Brantley Girls Basketball Team jumped out to an 18-2 lead after the first quarter, then held on the rest of the way for a 42-31 victory over Cedar Bluff at the Class 1A Semifinals. With the victory, the Bulldogs advance to Friday's State Championship Game to play the winner of Lynn and Keith.

Amahni Upshaw had 11 points and nine rebounds, and Erica Daniels added five points and 16 boards for the Bulldogs, who earned the school's first-ever appearance in the State Championship Game.

Brantley led 30-12 at halftime, but struggled after the break, scoring just 12 points in the second half. Cedar Bluff pulled as close as 10 points in the fourth quarter before the Bulldogs pulled away for the win.

Audrey Hargitt led Cedar Bluff with nine points. The Tigers end the year with an 18-16 record.
