Boston College Tops Auburn on Late Free Throw

BOSTON -- Olivier Hanlan scored 19 points, including the game-winning free throw with 20 seconds left, and Boston College beat Auburn 50-49 on Wednesday.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Eagles (2-3).

Frankie Sullivan scored 23 for Auburn (2-3), including a four-point play to tie the game with 48 seconds left. But Hanlan was fouled driving to the basket, then sank one of two free throws.

Sullivan dribbled down the clock but almost got tied up; Rob Chubb kept the loose ball from going out of bounds but Sullivan's desperation shot at the buzzer went off the front of the rim.

Joe Rahon scored 15 for BC, and Hanlan added six rebounds.

Sullivan had eight rebounds for the Tigers, who had never played in the state of Massachusetts before.
