Belichick, Patriots await Gronkowski update

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick is providing no update on injured tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Belichick said during a conference call Monday that he had nothing to add to his comments following New England's 41-28 win over the Houston Texans in a divisional playoff game Sunday. He said then he wasn't sure if Gronkowski had broken his arm.

Gronkowski needs season-ending surgery after breaking the left arm he originally injured Nov. 18 in a win over Indianapolis, a person with knowledge of the injury told The Associated Press.

Running back Danny Woodhead didn't return after hurting his thumb on the Patriots' first offensive play. Belichick said Monday he could have played if necessary.

The Patriots (13-4) host the Baltimore Ravens (12-6) in the AFC championship game Sunday.
