Auburn's 'D' gives up a lot, takes away a bunch

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - No. 5 Auburn's defense has both given
generously and taken away freely.

The Tigers have allowed larged helpings of yards and points, but
also have forced a combined seven fourth-quarter turnovers against
South Carolina and Arkansas.

Auburn coach Gene Chizik says the best word to describe his
defense is "resilient." The defense has capitalized enough to
help the team remain unbeaten through seven games, including a
65-43 shootout against the Razorbacks.

The Tigers have been strong against the run but rank 108th
nationally in pass defense. This week they face No. 6 LSU and a
strong running game.

LSU receiver Russell Shepard says Auburn has a
bend-but-don't-break defense. He says LSU needs to "make them
break" with plays on the perimeter.
