Coach Gus Malzahn scheduled the team's first two-a-day of camp for the day after their first scrimmage. It was no coincidence, just a chance for Malzahn to test his players to see how they perform in difficult situations.
And Malzahn was not pleased. He pulled his team aside afterward to let thm know he was dissappointed with how they responded. Feeling fatigued after the scrimmage is not excuse for coach.
The morning half of practice was dedicated to correcting mistakes from the previous day's scrimmage. Malzahn says the scrimmage was beneficial from a coach's standpoint because it pointed out what needed to be improved on and what is actually working. Malzahn is pushing his players so they understand that the standard to meet is set very high.
