Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs unveiled a plan to create 2,000 more free parking spaces in and around the campus close to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Friday, removing some of the restrictions that have been put in over the years.

The plan, which has been two years in the making, according to Jacobs, has been a long-standing issue for Auburn fans. In an annual survey the athletics department conducts about the gameday experience, 48 percent of fans wanted to see more parking and tailgating options.
