It's a particularly weak year for blue-chip receiver prospects in the state of Alabama, leaving both Auburn and Alabama searching out of state for pass-catchers to add to their 2014 classes. While Alabama ventured north to get a commitment from Cincinnati-LaSalle four-star Derek Kief last week, Auburn has been busy in Florida.
West Palm Beach-Cardinal Newman four-star Travis Rudolph is a primary target, and the Tigers are among a list of favorites that also includes Alabama, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Ohio State and Tennessee. Rudolph (6-0, 189) told Rivals.com earlier this month that he's developing a strong relationship with Tigers receivers coach Dameyune Craig.
"I like Coach Craig because he talks about my fit within the entire program, it's a comfort type thing," Rudolph told Rivals. "The whole staff at Auburn, when I spent time with the players we got along really well. I feel like that's a good atmosphere for me."
