AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Auburn quarterbacks Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace drew tepid reviews after the Tigers' first spring practice in pads.
Coach Gus Malzahn says he saw good and bad from both passers Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium "but overall I'd say it was an average day for them."
Frazier and Wallace are still adjusting to the switch back to Malzahn's no-huddle, fast-paced offense.
They're the Tigers' only scholarship quarterbacks this spring, but three signees will join the mix in preseason camp. Both struggled at times in leading a sputtering offense last season.
Frazier says he speaks to former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton around campus two or three times a week. He says Newton's advice is to "forget about last year."
