AUBURN -- Day Two of Auburn's spring practice was a lot like Day One.
Fast. And faster still.
One drill Thursday had the offense racing in from the sidelines to run four plays as fast it can while moving toward the end zone. The average time? Four plays in 30 seconds, with the coaches yelling for it to be faster still.
That's the Gus Malzahn way.
For what it's worth, quarterback Jonathan Wallace had Corey Grant at running back for one quick series. Kiehl Frazier had Cameron Artis-Payne on another.
The practices are being run at a much faster pace than in previous years. Early sessions with specific positions don't last long. With the players moving in and out of the practice facility to the outdoor fields.
Standing-around-time, at least in the first 30 minutes, was almost nil.
•Ryan White was holder for field goals, a job he held last year. Wallace and backup quarterback Tate O'Connor held as well Thursday.
•Lots of players took turns returning punts and kickoffs. Among the early contestants were Quan Bray, Roberson Therezie, Jonathon Mincy, Trovon Reed, Jonathan Jones, Chris Davis, Tre Mason, Ricardo Louis, Ryan White and Corey Grant.
