ASHFORD, AL -- Ashford's centerfielder in softball is now a Troy Trojan. Allison Moore on Monday signed a letter of intent to play for the Lady Trojans.
Moore has been a staple in the Ashford outfield for years, leading the Lady Yellow Jackets to the Class 4A Area 3 title this season. Now, she's ready to hit the field for Troy, and help the Lady Trojans contend for Sun Belt titles.
"I just feel really blessed that I graduated and got to this position in my life, and I'm just really thankful," Moore said. "I'm glad I get to go to a D-One school, coming from Ashford.
"I love their softball facilities, coaches and when I went on my recruiting visit, I just kind of felt at home. I also like their academics out of Troy too."
Moore will lead Ashford back onto the field on Friday at the South Regional Tournament in Gulf Shores.
