Arkansas Looks To Snap SEC Losing Streak Against Auburn

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Arkansas coach Bret Bielema hopes to snap a nine-game losing streak when the Razorbacks travel to No. 6 Auburn on Saturday.

Last season's 3-9 record marked the first losing season of his head coaching career as well as Arkansas' first winless run through the Southeastern Conference since joining the league in 1992.

The former Wisconsin coach has continually praised the progress of the Razorbacks during preseason camp, and he hopes an opening conference game will add to the urgency for a team desperate to rebound from last season.

Among those Bielema has talked highly about is junior quarterback Brandon Allen, who is healthy after battling a shoulder injury for much of last season.
