Alabama has picked up its 8th commitment for the 2014 recruiting class with Corona, California offensive lineman Viane Talamaivao pledging his commitment to the Crimson Tide according to reports from multiple recruiting sites.
Talamaivao, who is rated as a 4-star offensive guard prospect by both Rivals.com and 247Sports, holds scholarship offers from 17 different major programs, including USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State and Florida State.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound lineman told 247Sports earlier this month that Alabama had established itself as his early favorite.
"I would say Alabama is my leader," Talamaivao said. "I just love the system they run down there and how successful they have been with offensive lineman as well. I am a big believer in the old school style of football, running the ball downhill, and I want to play in that kind of offense and I want to play for a team that produces offensive lineman like that.”
