Alabama WR Amari Cooper hopes for big rebound

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Amari Cooper isn't ready to declare his Alabama career a success just yet.
The second-ranked Crimson Tide star is one of the nation's top wide receivers and a potential high NFL draft pick. Cooper's numbers dropped after a fabulous freshman season amid struggles with nagging injuries, frequent double teams and inconsistency.
Cooper says he doesn't "look at it like I've had a lot of success" and always wants to do more.
Teammates and coaches have praised his work ethic leading up to the Aug. 30 opener against West Virginia in Atlanta, and Cooper was the leading vote getter on the media's preseason All-Southeastern Conference team.
He's the headliner of a deep receiving corps that also includes players like Christion Jones and DeAndrew White.
