TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Alabama has consistently led the way on the numerous preseason all-SEC teams that have trickled out over the past month, and it does the same on Sporting News' Top 25 College Football players in 2013.
With three representatives -- two of which are in the top 10 -- the Crimson Tide has the most of any team on the list, which is compiled annually by Sporting News reporter Matt Hayes.
Quarterback AJ McCarron, whom NFL guru Gil Brandt predicted to win the Heisman trophy, is the highest of the Alabama players at No. 9. He's fourth among quarterbacks on the list, as Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel is No. 1, Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater is No. 5 and Ohio State's Braxton Miller is No. 7.
Running back T.J. Yeldon, who rushed for 1,108 yards and 12 touchdowns as a freshman, is the No. 10 player. The only running back ahead of him is Georgia's Todd Gurley, who is No. 3.
