Defensive tackle Benito Jones has become the first player to commit to Alabama's 2016 recruiting class, AL.com has confirmed.
The four-star prospect from Waynesboro, Miss., named the Tide his leader after picking up the offer in May. He originally planned on making his commitment after his senior season, but decided to make his pledge Sunday night.
"It feels great to have an offer from them," Jones told AL.com in May. "That's a school I really want to go to.
"A lot of people don't want me to leave the state. But I'm going to go where I want to go."
