Alabama Girls Beat Mississippi 64-54 at All-Star Game in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Center Marqu'es Webb scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Alabama to a 64-54 victory Friday night in the 23rd Alabama-Mississippi girls all-star game.

After Mississippi's Jayla Chills tied the game at 50-50, Alabama closed the final five minutes with a 14-4 run to earn the win and take a 12-11 series lead.

Webb, a Vanderbilt signee from Hoover, dominated the second half with 14 points and nine rebounds to earn Alabama's MVP honors.

Chills, who was named the Mississippi MVP, scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds.

LSU signee Jasmine Rhodes from Faith Academy scored 19 points to go with four rebounds for Alabama.

Alexus Malone scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Mississippi.

Alabama's win snapped a three-year win streak by Mississippi, whose 54 points tied the 1997 team for the lowest total in the game's history.
